  1. Overview

    TravelSearch is a service owned and operated by SideStep, Inc.("SideStep"), with its principle place of business 2980 Bowers Ave, Santa Clara, California 95051 USA ("TravelSearch"). The Service is comprised of a website that facilitates your ability to search, compare and purchase travel products and services (such as airline tickets, hotel rooms, and rental cars) from third party suppliers.

    Subject to your agreement to certain terms and conditions in TravelSearch Terms of Service, you can access and use the Service on the TravelSearch web site at www.TravelSearch.com ("TravelSearch Website" or "Site").

    The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform you of the following:

    TravelSearch takes the privacy of your personal information very seriously and will use your information only in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy. TravelSearch will not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. However, as described in more detail in Section 4 below, there are limited circumstances when some of your personal information will be shared with third parties, under certain restrictions.

    This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to the TravelSearch Terms of Service.   2. What kind of information does TravelSearch collect about you?
    1. IP Addresses and Computer Information

      If you access and use the Service, our Web server logs typical information, including:

      • The URL of the page requested
      • The time and date of the request
      • The type, version, and configuration of web browser being used
      • The type of operation system being used
      • The URL of the website where you clicked on a link to get to the TravelSearch Website. This URL might contain a code to help identify the specific advertisement clicked on.
      • The IP address to which to copy of the page you requested is to be sent for display by your browser
    2. Cookies

      "Cookies" are small files of data that reside on your computer and allow us to recognize you as a user of the Service if you return to the TravelSearch Website using the same computer and browser. TravelSearch uses cookies in the following ways:

    3. Itinerary and Transaction Information

      We also collect information that you input as part of performing searches using the Service. When you choose to book a reservation for a travel product after learning about the product on the Service, in most cases the Service will automatically redirect you to the Web site of the relevant supplier, who will collect and process your payment details. You should read the privacy policies on each travel supplier's Web site you access. We are not responsible for their use of the personal information you supply to them.

    4. Customer Support Information

      If you correspond with us in any manner and for any purpose (e.g. e-mails to customer support), we retain such information in order to evaluate and improve our Service and quality of customer support.

  3. How will the information that TravelSearch collects be used?

    We use the information we collect from you: (a) to facilitate transactions on your behalf, (b) to activate searches on your behalf, (c) to personalize and improve our service offerings to you, and (d) to ensure that we are compensated by our partners. We also use this information in aggregate form to better understand what purchases users want to make and help provide better offers and a more effective service. If you opt to participate, we may use your information in order to offer you personalized services. We may also develop aggregate - but not individual - reports for our partners. An example of a summary report might be "500 users booked travel to a specific city during the month of November."

  4. With whom does TravelSearch share the information it collects about you?

    Your personal information is never sold or rented to any third party. TravelSearch will not share your personal information with third parties except as described in this section or with your express permission.

    • We disclose certain information that we collect to those travel suppliers with whom you decide to book your travel in order to facilitate your purchases. They will use it to book your reservations and process payments (which may involve your information being processed by third parties involved in the payment authentication process). We are not responsible for use of your data by any travel provider or any such third parties.
    • We share trend and aggregate information with our partners for business purposes and with other third parties for marketing purposes. We might disclose, for example, that a certain percentage of our users list their home airport as San Francisco. However, this aggregated information is in no way traceable to any specific personal information.
    • We disclose information when required by law or judicial authority.
    • We disclose information as required to safeguard SideStep's rights or property.
    • If SideStep, the company that owns and operates the Travelsearch Website, is ever merged with another company, or if SideStep buys, sells or reorganizes some or all part(s) of its business, parties involved in such a transaction would gain access to the information that SideStep has collected over time, including information collected on the TravelSearch Website. Such third parties would be required, however, to adhere to the provisions of this Privacy Policy until such time as it was amended in accordance with the process for modification set forth herein.
    • We share certain information (such as your log-in, profile, and preference information) with other websites owned and/or operated by SideStep (such as TravelPost.com). These sites are also required to adhere to the provisions of this Privacy Policy until such time as it was amended in accordance with the process for modification set forth herein.
  5. What are the opt-out choices TravelSearch provides you with regarding the collection, use, and distribution of your information?

    If you do not wish us to collect the information described in Section 2, you can do the following:

    • With respect to IP addresses and computer information, you cannot opt out of collection of such data. If you do not wish us to collect this information your only option is to stop using the TravelSearch Site.
    • With respect to cookies, you may de-activate the receipt of cookies by your computer at any time by following the relevant instructions in your browser software; however, if you do so you may not be able to correctly receive certain elements of the TravelSearch Service.
    • With respect to itinerary and transaction information, because we need to collect this information in order to receive payment from travel suppliers, you cannot opt out of collection of such data. If you do not wish us to collect this information your only option is to stop using the TravelSearch Site.
    • With respect to customer support information, you cannot opt out of collection of this information since maintaining a record of such support issues is critical to our improving the TravelSearch Website and Service.
  6. What security procedures does TravelSearch use to protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of information it collects?

    TravelSearch operates secure data networks protected by industry-standard firewall and password protection systems. Our internal security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary and only authorized individuals have access to the information provided by our users.

    While TravelSearch takes reasonable steps to secure your personal information, no system is fault-proof. If TravelSearch's security systems are breached, TravelSearch may attempt to notify you electronically and, by using the Service and/or providing personal information to us, you agree that we can notify you electronically. TravelSearch may post a notice on the TravelSearch Website if a security breach occurs. If this happens, you will need a web browser which enables you to view the TravelSearch Website.

  7. How long does TravelSearch retain information about me?

    TravelSearch will retain information from which it is possible to identify you for a reasonable time bearing in mind the possibility of your re-using the Service. If you would like your information to be deleted at any time you should contact us using the details set out below.

  8. Does TravelSearch collect information from children?

    Children under 13 should not send any information about themselves to TravelSearch. If a child under 13 submits information through any part of the Service, and we learn the person submitting the information is a child, we will attempt to delete this information as soon as possible. Because we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13, we do not use or disclose such information to third parties.

  9. How can I access the information TravelSearch has about me or correct it?

    How can I access the information TravelSearch has about me or correct it? TravelSearch has appointed a privacy officer responsible for assisting you with privacy-related issues. If you would like to change or update your information or preferences, please follow the instructions described above. We are committed to providing you with reasonable access to the information we have about you and reasonably assisting you in managing the personal information you share with us.

    Because our business and services are changing and improving all the time, in the future we may find it necessary to make changes to this Privacy Policy. We will prominently post such material changes on the TravelSearch Website at least 30 days prior to their taking effect.
